New Manchester United Show Announced
Wayne Rooney, the former Manchester United captain, is set to co-host a new show dedicated to the club alongside influencer Mark Goldbridge this season. The programme, titled Stick to United with Wayne Rooney, will be part of Gary Neville’s Overlap network. Neville, a former England defender, founded The Overlap in 2021, which has since expanded to cover other sports such as cricket and rugby.
The new show is part of a distribution agreement with Disney+. This deal will see 50 episodes of Stick to United with Wayne Rooney and 40 episodes of Stick to Football aired this season. Neville stated that this partnership allows for an expansion of reach without compromising the identity of The Overlap.

The Overlap’s Expanding Reach
Earlier this year, Neville acquired Goldbridge’s YouTube channels, integrating The United Stand and That’s Football into The Overlap network. Reports indicate that Neville paid an undisclosed seven-figure sum for these channels in April. Goldbridge, whose real name is Brent di Cesare, has a significant online presence with over 3.8 million followers across his two YouTube channels.
Clips from Goldbridge’s videos are known for often going viral due to his reactions and football opinions. Rooney is already a regular pundit on The Overlap’s Stick to Football show and will now front this new dedicated Manchester United programme.
Stick to United with Wayne Rooney is scheduled to debut weekly from Tuesday, 18 August, while Stick to Football will be available weekly from Thursday, 20 August, on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland. Disney+ will serve as the headline sponsor for both shows and will also commission exclusive episodes and companion content for its platform.

Content and Collaboration Details
The new show, Stick to United with Wayne Rooney, will offer analysis of Manchester United’s latest results and performances. It aims to provide fans with expert insight, opinions, and in-depth discussions on key topics surrounding the club. Rooney expressed his delight at co-hosting the new show with Goldbridge, noting it would be dedicated to everything Manchester United.
Goldbridge also shared his excitement about working with Rooney, describing it as a significant milestone for fan-led media. He views it as a substantial step forward for The United Stand community to collaborate with a club legend.
Stick to Football, hosted by Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Ian Wright, and Roy Keane, will continue to feature special guests discussing various football topics. 40 new episodes of Stick to Football will be available on Disney+, existing streaming platforms, and The Overlap’s YouTube channel, with 20 episodes exclusive to Disney+ for a limited period. Additionally, Disney+ has commissioned an extra 6 exclusive episodes from the UK for its streaming service.
Stick to United with Wayne Rooney will debut with 50 episodes on Disney+, alongside existing streaming platforms and The Overlap’s The United Stand YouTube channel, with extended episode content exclusive to the streaming service. The six exclusive episodes of Stick to Football and extended episodes of Stick to United with Wayne Rooney were commissioned by Sean Doyle, VP, Unscripted, Disney+ EMEA, and Angela Jain, Head of Content, Disney+ EMEA.
The Wayne Rooney Show is also set to return to BBC platforms this season, and Rooney will maintain his punditry role on Match of the Day.
