Team form and manager insights
Newcastle United enters the match with early momentum under new manager Matthias Jaissle. The German manager secured a victory against Valencia in his initial match. The game against Everton will mark Jaissle’s first time leading the team against Premier League opposition.

Everton arrives in Edinburgh following a mixed run of pre-season results. The team has recorded wins against Dundee F.C. and German club Hamburg. However, David Moyes’ side has also experienced losses against Stoke City and Stuttgart. This fixture against Premier League opposition offers Everton an opportunity to refine their strategies before the domestic season begins.
In terms of recent history, the two clubs finished last season’s Premier League campaign separated by a single point. Both teams will aim for a strong performance and a victory in Edinburgh as they conclude their pre-season preparations.
Matchday information for supporters
For supporters attending the match at Murrayfield Stadium, turnstiles will open at 3:45 PM, 90 minutes before kick-off. The West Stand Fan Village will be accessible from 3:15 PM. Newcastle United supporters with valid tickets for their section will be directed to the South Stand.
Travel to the stadium is possible via tram, bus, or walking. For those using the tram, services from Edinburgh Waverley Train Station will depart from the West End stop due to an ongoing incident and road closure on Princes Street. Public parking is not available at the stadium, but the Ingliston Park & Ride offers an alternative with 1,085 spaces, including 46 disabled parking bays. Overnight parking is not permitted at Ingliston Park & Ride.

Bags larger than A4 size (30cm x 20cm x 10cm) are not permitted inside the stadium, and there is no bag drop facility. Flags are allowed if they are no larger than 2×3 metres, fire retardant, have poles no bigger than 1 meter tall and 1 inch thick, and do not feature offensive, discriminatory, or political slogans. Various items are prohibited, and individuals in possession of restricted items will be refused entry.
Food and drink, including alcohol in the West Stand Fan Village in accordance with Scottish Licensing Laws, will be available for purchase by card only. Alcohol is not permitted within the stadium bowl. Accessible entrances and gates are available, with the closest accessible entrance to the Newcastle United section located to the left of the grey turnstile building opposite the tram stop. Accessible parking is available via a ballot system, and assistance dogs are welcome at Murrayfield Stadium.

Other pre-season fixtures scheduled for Wednesday, 12th August include Volos NFC versus Olympiakos Piraeus II at 4:30 PM, Atromitos versus Levadiakos at 5:00 PM, and Nottingham Forest versus Bayer Leverkusen at 7:45 PM.
